Meagan Elferink is a tattoo artist, freelance illustrator and photographer who is currently based in Oklahoma City. Born in Detroit, she moved to Galveston, Texas at age seven, where she spent her formative years on the Texas coast. In 2012, she moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas, and embrace the Austin vibe. It was during this time that she actively pursued her love of art and photography as a vocation. Formative childhood experiences on road trips with her family across the U.S. and travels abroad inform her world view and artistic outlook. Being a first generation American with familial roots originating in Australia and the Netherlands, she developed a strong appreciation early on for the different cultures, people, and places. Much of her inspiration stems from her interests in the complexities of the human condition. This is showcased through her early illustrative work in portraiture that seeks to capture the experiences of each individual subject. Meagan’s tattoo work is currently rooted in traditional, illustrative and folk art inspired pieces. She is currently available for tattooing, commissioned projects and other novel opportunities to ply her craft.
